Design Manager

Deanston Cooper's client are a highly successful, privately owned civil engineering based in Glasgow, known for delivering high-quality infrastructure projects across Scotland. With a growing portfolio in the energy sector, the company is seeking a Design Manager to lead and coordinate design activities on civils-based substation projects.

Your duties as Design Manager will include:

• Managing and coordinating all aspects of the design process for civil engineering and substation projects.
• Liaising with internal teams, external consultants, and clients to ensure seamless integration of design solutions.
• Ensuring designs comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and health and safety guidelines.
• Supporting tendering and pre-construction activities, providing technical input and risk assessments.
• Overseeing design reviews, approvals, and value engineering opportunities.
• Collaborating with project managers and site teams to ensure design intent is maintained throughout construction.
• Leading design risk assessments and provide innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation for design changes and approvals.
