Project Manager - Residential / House Building

Up to £55 000 plus car / car allowance, pension and healthcare

Deanston Cooper is currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to work for a national main contractor, initially based on a large scale social housing project in the Aberdeen area.

The Project Manager will provide leadership, guidance and management to the project team, assisting them to deliver within the demands of safety, profitability and production through the economic use of the Company’s resources, i.e. management, sub-contractors, labour, plant and materials to ensure maximum return from all operations. Specific duties include:

  • Liaising with the customer, clients and design team.
  • Working closely with the Project Quantity Surveyor, providing the necessary input to allow them to report on the current and projected financial status of the project.
  • Developing the main logic of the works programme and monitoring progress of the same.
  • Ensuring that no work commences on site until health and safety policy and the relevant construction phase plan is in place.
  • Developing Method Statements and Risk Assessments together with the Safety Plan
  • Sourcing labour and maintaining high productivity.
  • Expediting materials and information release from design team.
  • Day to day planning of operations and problem solving.
  • Complying with the requirements of the company’s Quality Procedure and Manual.
  • Reporting contractual risk situations
  • Supervising the quality of the works and handing over a snag free building.

Applications are welcome from candidates from either a degree qualified or trades background, who have gained experience working at Project Manager level for a building main contractor or house builder. You will be motivated, dynamic and commercially aware, with an acute awareness of what needs to be achieved to bring projects in on time and on budget. CSCS and SMSTS is a must.
