Deanston Cooper is currently recruiting for an experienced Buyer to join an award winning, national civil engineering contractor based in Glasgow. 

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain you will manage the end to end buying process, negotiating and assessing suppliers and subcontractors to maximise profits.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Procuring materials, plant, subcontracts and resources on time and budget to the right quantity and specification standards
• Maximising value through effective buying
• Developing collaborative relationships with suppliers and subcontractors
• Maintaining and monitoring performance systems for sub-contractors and suppliers
• Providing monthly reports and management information to the Buying and Supply Chain Lead.

Applications are welcome from candidates with previous procurement experience gained within a Civil Engineering or Rail environment. You will have excellent IT, negotiation and communication skills and be at a level where you can manage and prioritise your own workload. Travelling will be required as part of the role, so you must have a full UK driving licence.
